CESENATICO

Cesenatico is a municipality and seaside resort in the Italian province of Forlì-Cesena in Italy and has 23,009 inhabitants. The area is 45.1 km², the population density is 475 inhabitants per km². It is located on the Riviera Romagnola, the stretch of coast between Ravenna and Rimini.
If you look beyond the beach, you will find a unique museum in Cesenatico: the Museo della Marineria . What is special is that the museum partly consists of a floating collection: ten colorful historic fishing boats float on the water of the canal that ripples in front of the museum, usually with sails raised. Few people know that Leonardo da Vinci also left his mark in Cesenatico. He is said to have designed the canals and the port of Cesenatico - so it is actually thanks to him that we can now enjoy the special view of the Museo della Marineria. Cesenatico is also the place where cyclist Marco Pantani was born. He spent his 34 years short life there and he is buried there. Pantani's status took on epic forms after his death, with its own museum, numerous monuments and a mausoleum in a cemetery on the outskirts of the town.
